We are back with another Pro Talk on the schedule for September.  But first, a big thanks to Dr. Luke Angel and Mercy Sports Medicine for the fantastic talk on Knee Health in August. If you missed the talks on shoulders, hips, or knees, we will work on another series in the near future. Next up, we have Dr. Nicola Dehlinger from Pura Vida Healthcare to talk about Managing Inflammation Naturally on September 5th at 7 PM.

Inflammation has its roots in what we eat, how we manage our stress, and overall lifestyle. It is a factor in heart disease, cancer, Type 2 diabetes among others. This is a VERY important topic for our family within the gym as well as the broader community. And Dr. Nicola's take on it may be a little different than what you've heard from other sources. As a naturopathic physician, she focuses on ways to improve health through nutrition, lifestyle, and prevention.

You don't have to agree 100% with the naturopathic perspective, but I would be willing to bet that you will take away one or two ideas that could make a difference in your overall health. Preventing chronic disease and being our healthiest requires a mulit-faceted approach. You owe it to yourself to learn all you can around preventing these chronic diseases and staying healthy.

Let's pack the house on September 5th at 7 PM to learn more about:

  • Causes of inflammation
  • Nutritional inputs
  • Role of NSAIDs, herbs, and supplements
  • Impacts of stress, insulin, and gut health

And don't forget that there are no classes on Sunday (Sept 2) due to the Jump N Rope clinic and we are running a holiday schedule on Monday (Sept 3) for Labor Day. Sign up in ZP as always. We will be back to our regular schedule on Tuesday.
