December 13, 2022

I’ve got a packed update for you today. There is a lot going on around the gym these days. We have another construction push happening outside, full classes with the Slay the Season Challenge, and holidays quickly approaching. Read on for the scoop.

Slay the Season
It is not too late to get in on the fun. Slay the Season is our way of helping you stay consistent to your health and fitness priorities through the holidays. A lot of people let the time between Thanksgiving and New Year’s turn into the Valley of Death for their fitness and nutrition goals. Our hope is to keep you doing what you can through this busy time. We need the outlet to our stress and busyness now more than ever. Come get a workout in, see your friends, and blow off some steam in a healthy way. All you have to do is show up!

Holiday Schedule
December 23—12 Days of Christmas workout; classes will be on a special schedule to allow time for this epic workout. Class times are: 5:30, 7, 8:30, 10:30 (Longevity), and 12. We will accommodate as many athletes as possible in all of these classes.
December 24 and 25—Gym Closed
December 26—Regular Schedule

We will run a regular schedule of classes over New Year’s Eve weekend.

Welcome Daryl and Lindsay
We have added a couple of “new” faces to the coaching roster. Daryl has been a long-time member of Catacombs and has been coaching clients independently for years. She is bringing her private training practice into Catacombs and helping us in that capacity as well as coaching classes as needed. Daryl loves working with others who are burned out, injured, tired, or are trying to be and stay fit while dealing with special issues in their bodies or lives because she has been there herself.  She knows that EVERYONE can become stronger and fitter and more mobile than they are now.  She brings 23 years of therapeutic massage knowledge to the table in her understanding of the body and movement.  She uses both science and intuition to help get people to where they want to be. If you are looking for a coach to work on breathing, restorative exercise, or just like a coach with a gentler approach, Daryl could be a great fit.

Lindsay is also a very familiar face around Catacombs. She is very consistent in group class and individualized programming but if you’ve ever been in the same room with her, you will know that she is the friendliest little firecracker you’ve ever encountered. Whether she is coaching a group or an individual, Lindsay is dedicated to bringing out the very best in every athlete no matter their starting point. Witnessing her athletes gain confidence and achieve the seemingly unachievable - all while having fun - are what fuel her drive for excellence. Having the opportunity to mirror her athletes’ greatness back to themselves is what brings her infinite joy and keeps her inspired day after day. Lindsay has been coaching since 2011 so she’s seen a few things. She also has a Masters of Public Health in Nutrition and is a certified nutrition coach. You will hear a lot more about the nutrition piece very soon, but look for Lindsay in the group class starting this week.

New Offerings Coming in 2023
We will NOT be rolling out a whole new menu of classes in 2023. Our focus is on improving your member experience and continuing to provide the highest quality coaching found anywhere. We believe that focusing on these essentials are the best way to help you meet your health and fitness goals. That being said, we are focusing on a few key priorities. We will be providing more times for Open Gym so that you can get your accessory work or customized programming in. We will announce the schedule changes for this once we finish the current construction push outside.
The other priority that we will be focusing on in 2023 is our nutrition offering. We have lacked the resources to offer a full-scale nutrition package but this has long been a priority for Catacombs. (Because you know that you can’t outwork poor nutrition.) Coach Lindsay will allow us to bring a proven professional to the game. We will have a full post with all the details on this very soon.
