Before we get to today's guest post from Coach Greg, aka G-Luv or simply the Mayor, I would like to take the opportunity to thank all of you that came out for our holiday party on Saturday. I genuinely enjoyed the occasion to chat with everyone and was in awe of the amazing community that you all have built. Thank you for your unyielding support and for believing in our mission of changing lives through fitness and community. I am grateful for each of you and honored by your commitment to Catacombs. Here's Greg:
It was an easy decision to pick Coach as the topic for my first blog post, after all, I would not be writing to you if it were not for Tracie. No doubt, many of you have found inspiration from certain athletes and coaches, but for me it all rolls up to Coach. She would never write a blog post about herself, nor take full credit, but recognition is certainly due!
I am happy to announce that Coach, and CrossFit Catacombs, have been selected as one of the three finalists for the Durango’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award! The Durango Chamber of Commerce will host their annual awards event, “Durango Rocks” on January 18th and it’s there that they will announce the winner of the “Entrepreneur of the Year” along with other local business awards.
Consider showing your love by attending the event so we can show attendees what a truly special community CFC is. You can view event detail and purchase tickets online at http://www.durangobusiness.org/ .We hope to see you there and look forward to honoring Tracie and all the work she so happily contributes to our community and to us as athletes and individuals.
I could go on about the significant role Tracie has played in my life but I will break it down simply: few people in my adult life have shaped me more than Coach. I know that I am not alone in this feeling, so please feel free to share your story or an “Atta girl” in the comments.
I hope to share more musings in the future. Until then, I will see you at the gym.
