Meet Kristie

Here is the next installment of "Meet the Athlete". Periodically we interview members and ask them to tell us more about themselves. Most of you already know Kristie Kiser because she is the first to introduce herself if she doesn't know you...even without the threat of burpees.  We love Kristie because she is always welcoming to new faces and has a wealth of knowledge. She doesn't hesitate to share what she knows with others but is equally willing to be coached.

When did you start at Catacombs and why?  September 2014- I was searching for a CF home after moving here from Austin,TX.

What do you do to pay the bills? I am a Language Tutor at The Liberty School and a Broker at Keller Williams Southwest.

How do you like to spend your time when not at work or the gym? Playing with my kids- water skiing, snow skiing, biking, swimming and cooking. I also have this crazy side of me that loves to clean and organize stuff. All my friends love it, becauseI help them too!

What do you want to see on the whiteboard when you walk in for a workout (favorite movements, time domains, workout style, etc.)? Anything with the bar! I love working on form! Pull-ups and fun gymnastics moves. I really think about pull-ups a lot, but don’t tell anyone becausethey already think I am a crazy CF girl.

What gives you a sense of dread when you see it on the whiteboard? Running! Oh, yea WALL BALLS!

How do you use your fitness outside of the gym or why do you care about being fit? I want to stay fit enough to keep up with my kids!

What's your favorite motivational quote, song, or ritual? Love one another... John 13:34 It's really that simple.

Name one thing you want to achieve in the gym in 2015. Muscle-Ups

What else do you have to say for yourself? I have always been an active person. I had a career as a dancer/teacher for a contemporary company in Houston, TX., a Pilates Instructor,a distance runner. After an injury in 2012 that took me away from running, my PT told me I had to start lifting weights. I grumbled about going once a week, but I did it. Now, I go three to four days a week. What I love about CFC is the community! I get excited to see everyone and share the WOD! :)
