Here is an article that was forwarded to me by one of our members. While I was initially skeptical since the article is published on the website of a pharmaceutical company, this one seems to make a lot of sense. The article is entitled "Why Too Much Exercise May Harm Your Heart, and What Science Tells Us About the Ideal Amount and Type of Exercise". The main topic of the article is around the risks of repeated, excessive endurance training and the cardiac issues that have arisen is long-term endurance athletes. This has been a rising concern over the past few years as we've seen several instances of presumably very fit endurance athletes drop dead of heart conditions. That's a topic for another day, but they take the article in a different direction which is the recommendation of high-intensity interval training (aka CrossFit) mixed with non-exercise movement like walking. Don't miss what Dr. Mercola himself has to say about uninterrupted sitting at your desk and why being well-rounded and moderately fit may be better in the long run than being outstanding in a specific domain.
