The Catacombs Games kick off next Friday night. It is going to be a fun and exciting time for our community. We hope that everyone joins in the fun as it is just an awesome night of getting to know others in our tribe. Here is a rough rundown on the logistics for Friday night, but as usual, please be prepared to be flexible.

We will start setting up at 4:30 and you can begin signing up for heats at that time. We will have sign up sheets on the front desk and the first heat will kick off at 5 PM. Since we are expecting big numbers of athletes on Friday night, please put yourself in a heat when you arrive and don't wait for us to ask you if you are working out and which heat you are going in. We will run heats as long as needed to get everyone through the workout. We will have a warmup written out and coaches available to consult with you on loads, scaling, and warmup protocols. Still, please be proactive in getting yourself warmed up and having an idea on your workout scale before your heat time.

After you have completed your workout, please stick around and help count reps/judge for the next heat. Then, grab some food and a beverage and meet some folks in the community that you may not cross paths with on a daily basis. Don't forget that the potluck and social hour are critical components of Friday Night Lights. Please bring food and beverages to share. This is part of the point structure and it is what makes it fun. We can always use an extra cooler or two if someone has a couple they can loan. Non-alcoholic beverages are always appreciated as well. We will provide cups, plates, napkins and plasticware, but please bring whatever serving utensils you pot luck contributions require.

Point Structure:

  • Attendance– Points are awarded to teams for each team member who completes the workout each week.
  • 2 points for each individual completing the workout at FNL (capped at 20 points per week per team)
  • 1 point for each athlete completing the workout on Saturday or during the day on Friday.
  • Spirit – 5 points awarded to the team that has the most pride, noise, and spirit each week.
  • Potluck Participation - 5 points awarded to the team that best represents at the potluck each week.

Questions? Ask a coach or your team captain. This is going to be awesome!

A Call for Captains

We have a ton of athletes (over 50 at last count) signed up to participate in the Games. We currently have 4 Captains and 2 Co-Captains but need 2 more Co-Captains. The commitment is low...just be there as many of the 5 nights as possible and cheer on your team. If you can help organize them for potlucks, etc., that is a bonus. Please email Tracie if you are willing to help out.
