Use Your Fitness

We are so fortunate to live in a place like Durango where the options for "using your fitness" are limitless and inspiring. This weekend was a stunning example of this as so many in our community fanned out to take on various challenges and adventures. I'm certain to miss many, so please shoot me an email (and picture if you have it) of your weekend exploits. Here are just a few:

Shout out to the Durango High School Cross Country Team! These boys are dominating everything that comes their way this season. The team won the meet Friday night by a landslide. But here is the best part; I went by the gym on Saturday morning to find Jordan Helms and Nick Turco preparing to hit a double-hero workout with Dustin and the rest of the high school T-Up! crew. I guess their Top 5 individual performances were not enough. Nice job boys! Congrats also to our high school and middle school kids that completed the Dirt Fondo this weekend and ran in the Cross Country meet on Friday night. You guys are inspiring.

There was also a little race in our backyard known as Imogene Pass. This race is not for the faint of heart or the unprepared. Fortunately Jen Hargrove is neither of those. I have not gotten the full race download from her, but I did get this picture from the summit. Congratulations Jen. This achievement is well-earned!

I have also not gotten the download from Beth Gouge, but she spent the weekend competing in a Masters CrossFit Competition in Pueblo. While Beth embodies the spirit of the Catacombs community and is one of the most welcoming people I know, she also knows how to bring the intensity when it is time to workout. I'm guessing she did just fine in her first competition.

Wow! You guys are amazing and inspiring. Keep forwarding on those pictures and summaries of your races and adventures. They remind us all of what we are capable of when we are focused on a goal.
