Coca Cola Funding Obesity Research

I went into this one with an open mind. I was willing to believe that the soft drink industry was potentially interested in understanding the links between obesity and sugary drinks.  Afterall, they are funding a nonprofit to do obesity research. Then I read the following quote from one of the lead scientists employed by the nonprofit group and realized that nothing could be further from the truth. 

“Most of the focus in the popular media and in the scientific press is, ‘Oh they’re eating too much, eating too much, eating too much’— blaming fast food, sugary drinks and so on. And there’s really virtually no compelling evidence that that, in fact, is the cause.”
