Good Afternoon Catacombs Athletes--

It's been a big couple of weeks at the gym with record numbers in attendance and break throughs all over the place. Several of you have come through this week with stories of accomplishments and improvements that have inspired me and make me proud of your hard work. These include everything from first pull ups to personal records on running or biking routes to pounds lost and everything in between. These results are fantastic because to me, they are symbolic of the bigger results that are happening below the surface. You see, when it's all said and done, this is about making us better people in the lives we live outside of the gym...not just numbers on the board. The work you put in at Catacombs translates not only to improved health and fitness, but improved self-confidence, increased capacity to deal with stress, and the ability to persevere when things get tough at home and in life. Congratulations on your PRs and milestones and thank you for sharing them with me and the other coaches. You are truly an incredible group of athletes and humans. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with you.

This motley crew finished Starting Line in January. Look for them in classes and introduce yourselves.

Upcoming Events:

Sunday Morning Yoga with Megan

Several of us have been doing informal and sporadic yoga sessions with Megan over the last couple of months. Yoga is the perfect balance to the high intensity of CrossFit and highlights in excruciating detail where we lack mobility and where the opportunities for improvement lie. If your goal is to be in this for the long haul and avoid injury, yoga is a great place to start. Come check it out on Sunday at 8:30. We aren't quite ready to make this a regular feature on the schedule yet, but we are on this weekend and I'll start noting on the whiteboard if we will be having class on Sundays. Bring a yoga mat if you have one. Don't worry...CrossFitters notoriously suck at yoga. Megan is great at helping you modify and you don't have to be "proficient" in yoga to join.

CrossFit Open--Friday Night Lights

Friday Night Lights is back and this time we are featuring the CrossFit Open workouts. We will be running heats of the Open workouts on Friday nights starting at 5 PM throughout the CrossFit Open. The CrossFit Open kicks off Feb. 27th at Catacombs and will run for 5 weeks. Stay tuned for more details. Yes, just like Friday Night Lights in the past, there will be happy hour to follow.
