Getting Started at Catacombs

We are right smack in the middle of the holiday season as parties and celebrations fill the calendar. We fill our bellies with holiday treats and drinks and easily justify the indulgences. Even though there are a good 3 weeks of the holiday season in front of us, we have already started to receive a lot of phone calls and emails around getting started at Catacombs in 2016. As we aren't a typical health club that can accommodate a rush of resolution exercisers, I thought I would take this opportunity to update anyone interested on the pathway to "Getting Started" at Catacombs.

We are a small community of athletes and coaches that challenge, motivate, and support one another to be the best athletes, parents, students, professionals, and human beings that we can be. We ask every new athlete joining our community to understand and support this common goal. We expect 100% commitment every time you walk through the door and we demand mutual respect for everyone in our community. In return, we commit to:

  • Taking the time to understand your goals and needs from a fitness program;
  • Providing individualized, professional coaching toward your goals;
  • Maintaining a safe and supportive community to move outside of your comfort zone;
  • Maximizing your valuable workout time through thoughtful programming and small, well-run classes.

Everyone walking through the doors of Catacombs for the first time has unique needs. For some, that first step can be terrifying. We have found that athletes new to CrossFit are most successful when we can spend 4-6 private training sessions working with them on a 1:1 basis. This allows us to get to know you, understand your needs as an athlete, and lay a solid foundation to begin building your fitness. We take the long view and want you to be successful in the long term. We don't do quick fixes or boot camps that are likely to leave you injured or burned out.

We are not the least expensive way to start a fitness program in 2016 but we have a proven formula that facilitates measurable, sustainable improvement in not just your fitness but also your overall health. Our Private Track program of 4 private training sessions is $200. This is the first step in joining our community. Getting injured or frustrated and losing hope is a much more costly proposition than investing in establishing a solid foundation. We will do our best to accommodate your schedule in setting these sessions up and are happy to offer a discount if you have a friend that wants to start at the same time.

Upon completion of Private Track, you will be ready to move into our regular group classes. But the learning doesn't stop there. We keep our classes small so that we can offer individual coaching and guidance in every single class. Regular classes are offered from 5:30 AM to 6 PM.

If you are ready to get going now, or know that you want to start in January, contact us now. Our private training slots fill up quickly. We will not be offering a "fast track to starting CrossFit" crash course. That just is not how we operate. If you still have questions or have done CrossFit before and are interested in Catacombs, please email me at tracie@crossfitcatacombs.com. We want to help and look forward to hearing from you.
